Job Opportunity: Postdoctoral Position, Gut Microbiota, VUMC, Nashville, TN

Posted by on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Job Opportunities .

A postdoctoral fellow position is now available in a NIH-funded laboratory at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Research from this laboratory is focused on understanding of the mutualistic relationship between the gut microbiota and the host with implications for normal gastrointestinal development and response to injury and/or inflammation. Research for this position will make a novel direction to elucidate the mechanisms by which human milk oligosaccharides regulate gut microbial homeostasis and intestinal epithelial integrity in adulthood and apply this knowledge to develop therapies for prevention and treatment of intestinal inflammatory diseases.

This position is a great opportunity for researchers interested in postdoctoral training with a translational focus. Our ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. in biological science and is knowledgeable about the basic mechanisms in cellular and molecular biology, immune regulation, and microbiology. The postdoc will be exposed to a supportive and outstanding research environment, focused on the translation of basic research to the clinic, and will gain invaluable experience across a wide variety of subjects. He or she will be working closely with a collegial, highly motivated, multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, and grant-funded position. The initial appointment will be for a period of three years with anticipated renewal upon the continued availability of funding and performance. Applicant materials (CV and List of three references with contact information) should be submitted to directly to:
