Palladian Partners is a creative communications firm dedicated to disseminating information about new discoveries in health, medicine, and social science to professionals, educators, patients, families, and the public. In this position, you will interact with all levels of staff and use your outstanding editorial and organizational skills on a wide range of print and web projects in support of high-profile clients.
To be considered for this position, you must be as adept at writing for scientific audiences about the use of zinc finger nucleases in HIV research as you are at writing for the general public about diabetes risk factors.
Job Requirements
- Conduct research and write web and print content about a wide range of biomedical research and public health topics
- Interview scientists and thought leaders at major research institutions nationwide
- Attend scientific conferences and summarize proceedings
- Contribute to social media and video communications projects
- Write and edit news releases, newsletter articles, fact sheets, and brochures
- Work directly with clients and collaborate with other staff members
Required Skills and Experience
- Advanced degree in a life science
- Three years of science writing experience
- Ability to translate very technical scientific content into lively prose for lay audiences
- Strong understanding of the difference between writing for print and the web
- Experience developing social media and/or video/digital media content
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver outstanding web and print content on deadline
- Outstanding customer service skills

The Senior Medical Writer is a professional and a leader possessing specialized skills and experience in critical analysis of biomedical research, written scientific and medical communication, educational design and content development, and editing of continuing education activities for healthcare professionals. He/she is responsible to complete quality scientific and medical writing as assigned by the Director of Scientific Affairs and to assist the Director of Scientific Affairs in mentoring the medical writers on the content team. The Senior Medical Writer is a self-starter with extensive experience in independently designing and developing continuing education activities for healthcare professionals and relies on his/her extensive experience and judgment to accomplish goals. Because the Senior Medical Writer is in leadership position, preference will be given to candidates who can work onsite at the corporate office in Tamarac, FL, although remote candidates are also invited to apply.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Master’s degree in a biomedical or health-related scientific field, PhD preferred, commensurate with the scope of educational services performed; education and experience in communications or journalism are also preferred. The Medical Writer II is a professional possessing specialized skills in understanding and critical analysis of biomedical research as well as written scientific and medical communication; educational design, content planning and development; and editing of content. He/she is a member of the content department and is responsible to complete quality scientific and medical writing as assigned by the Director of Scientific Affairs (DSA). He/she may also take direction from the Director of Scientific Education and Outcomes (DSEO). He/she may also conduct medical editing and copy editing as assigned. The Medical Writer II is a self-starter with experience in planning and developing continuing education activities for healthcare professionals. Preference will be given to candidates who can work onsite.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a biomedical or health-related scientific field; Master’s degree preferred
- Education and experience in communications or journalism preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in designing and developing continuing medical education (CME/CE) activities for healthcare professionals with minimal oversight
- Experience in developing CME/CE activities supported by pharmaceutical companies and government contracts or grants
- Experience in applying principles of andragogy and self-directed learning

Job Title: Scientific Grant Writer/Medical Writer

The Scientific Grant Writer/Medical Writer is a key member of the team who utilizes his/her combined skills as a scientific medical writer, educational gap analyst, educational design innovator, and grant development specialist to develop and execute educational grants. He/she will engage investigative and analytical skills to identify and establish ongoing opportunities for grant development and grant submissions to achieve the company’s goals. He/she willconduct literature reviews of clinical trials, peer-reviewed articles, clinical guidelines and other medical/scientific data sources to develop accurate content and identify compelling educational designs, including program titles, learning objectives, agendas and formats. The Scientific Grant Writer/Medical Writerreports directly to the President and assists the president in content development of grants and all other content-required projects assigned to the President. In this role, the Scientific Grant Writer/Medical Writer will also create content for underserved content areas, including but not limited to programs on the company’s various websites; GME Today course work; company press releases, Hot Topics and other related content areas conducted and managed by the President.
Qualifications:
- Minimal Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in a scientific field or English or Journalism field commensurate with the scientific grant writing/medical writing scope of services performed by the Company
- Current knowledge of the health care industry
- Proficient in multi-tasking and balancing/managing multiple projects
- Ability to create and develop quality scientific grant components and scientific/medical content as described under “Position Duties”
- Ability to complete literature review and review/analyze scientific/medical research in order to apply accurate concepts to product development
- Analytical and didactic ability to complete medical writing in accordance with AMA criteria and grant development procedures
- Ability to organize and convey difficult and complex educational designs and grant components efficiently, fluently and accurately
- Ability to gather data for verifiable sources for grant development
