A postdoc position is available immediately in the Mashek laboratory within the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics at University of Minnesota. Applications are welcomed from highly motivated individuals to work on numerous projects involving autophagy and cell signaling. These studies will specifically interrogate the regulation of lipophagy (i.e. autophagy of lipid droplets) and the role of lipophagy in cell signaling/function using primarily cell models, although some animal models will be utilized as well. We our especially interested in how lipophagy influences the development of various diseases including NAFLD, obesity, and Type 2 Diabetes, and in the regulation of healthspan.
