Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Basic Sciences. The Department of Biochemistry at Vanderbilt University (https://medschool.vanderbilt.edu/biochemistry) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor; exceptional applicants at the rank of Associate or Full Professor will also be considered.

We seek candidates who are using innovative approaches to address important and challenging problems in all aspects of biology at the molecular level. Candidates are expected to develop a strong research program and participate in the education of graduate students and postdoctoral scientists. We are especially interested in scientists that complement current department and institution strengths, which include DNA and RNA metabolism, chromatin biology, signal transduction, protein misfolding diseases, and molecular cancer biology. Investigators developing and utilizing innovative approaches including computational biology, single molecule biochemistry, and chemical biology are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and diverse research community. The Biochemistry department has exceptional faculty who have received major international awards, election to the National Academy of Sciences, and a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (Stanley Cohen, 1986). Qualifications

  • PhD completed in Biochemistry-associated field
  • PostDoctoral Research Fellow experience, 3-5 years
