"Balancing Health & Science"-- Health and Wellness Series for Scientists 2016-2017

As a result of a scientist wellness survey on “Professionalism and Professional Health and Wellness of the Scientist” conducted earlier this year, Charlene Dewey, M.D., will be offering a yearlong program titled: The Year of the Scientist: Balancing Health & Science. All basic scientists with a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., MPH, MSCI, and all post-doctoral fellows involved in research (bench and/or clinical) are invited to attend any or all of the sessions focused on wellness and professionalism topics that pertain to the scientist. A total of 13 interactive, 1-hour lecture-discussions and workshops will take place throughout the year.  Registration is required.

In April, Dr. Ashley Brady joined the Biomedical Research Education and Training (BRET) Office of Career Development at Vanderbilt University as the ASPIRE Program Manager and Director of Career Engagement and Strategic Partnerships.  In this role, she will manages the design, development, and delivery of curricula and programs to provide professional skills training for biomedical sciences PhD students and postdoctoral fellows.  She is also responsible for developing and managing relationships with internal and external partners, and providing career advising services for trainees.
